May 23-July 30 - The PGA Championship History Exhibit
Cranbrook Institute of Science presents "Golf is Science" 

See acclaimed memorabilia such as Jack Nicklaus' putter from his win in 1980, Phil Mickelson's wedge that clinched his victory on the 18th hole in 2005, Gary Player's 9-iron from the 1972
PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club, Walter Hagen's walking stick and so much more. The exhibit traces the event's history from the first Championship in 1916, won by Jim Barnes, to last year's triumph by Tiger Woods.

June 1-October 26 - Birmingham Farmers Market
Sundays, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The sixth season of the Birmingham Farmers Market will bring a wide variety of locally and regionally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers and garden plants.

The outdoor market is held in Parking Lot 6 on the east side of North Old Woodward, north of Harmon Street, in downtown Birmingham.


June 7-August 9 - Mothers, Daughters, and Leaders of Oakland County Exhibit
Traveling exhibit from the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is on display at the Birmingham Historical Museum and Park. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for seniors, students and Birmingham Historical Society members. Call (248) 642-2817 or www.ci.birmingham.mi.us for more information.

July 30 - Motor City Brass Band - "Under the Big Top" a salute to the rich musical heritage of the circus.

August 6 - Sun209, original country rock music quintet. Also, American Idol Detroit Finalist Beth Stalker.

August 13 - No concert due to Dreamcruise.

August 20 - Birmingham's own guitarist, singer/songwriter Michael King and Scott Wilkinson performing with the Motor City Horns.

August 27 - Paul Keller Orchestra, one of Michigan's premier jazz big bands.
